Golden Years

In October 1963, the president of Sears Roebuck & Co., Crowdus Baker, along with Miss Texas Jeanne Amacker, Mayor Lester Palmer and local radio celebrity Cactus Pryor, were in attendance at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the capital city's first outdoor shopping mall, the Hancock Center.
